About The Position

Catalpa Health is currently seeking pre-degree interns to join our training program. Catalpa Health’s interns are a part of our robust training program that includes post-Master’s degree trainees, doctoral students, and pre-degree interns. Our training program includes didactic training and other clinical education experiences in addition to direct and indirect supervision. Position is part-time. Internship duration is two consecutive semesters and begins Summer or Fall 2026. Primary Internship Purpose: To obtain experience to build clinical skills in a supported educational environment. Under a licensed clinician supervisor, provides clinical and consultative services to prevent, assess, evaluate, and treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.

Requirements

  • Ability to establish and maintain trust and rapport.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.
  • Confidentiality is essential for this position.
  • Pursuing a Master’s Degree in Human Services, or related field required
  • Up to 1 year of related work experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides counseling and case management services for clients using evidence-based practices.
  • Performs crisis interventions as needed.
  • Coordinates with referring providers and other professionals, family members as needed to engage clients in care.
  • Provides liaison between clinical team, clinical leadership, and other professionals involved in the client’s care.
  • Consults and assures continuity of care, convey assessment findings, and implements therapeutic plans.
  • Prepares reports and other documentation in accordance with good clinical practice and institutional standards.
  • Follow Code of Conduct for Mental Health professionals.
  • Participates in elements of the clinical training program including didactic training, supervision, and collaboration.
