About The Position

Provide Psychiatric and/or Chemical Dependency counseling services to the patients admitted to Piedmont Medic for Behavioral Health inpatient units.

Requirements

• Master's degree required
• Minimum of 2 years experience in a clinical setting, either inpatient or outpatient / partial hospital setting addressing both psychiatric and chemical dependency issues with clients.
• A minimum of two years of supervised experience in psychiatric setting or addictive disease treatment setting, or minimum of three years of continuous active recovery in twelve step program.
• Professional certification and/or licensure as LCSW; LMSW; LMFT; LPC or actively pursuing such certification and/or licensure with projected completion within 2.5 years of hire required.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
• CPI certification within the first 90 days of employment required
• Strong communication skills in both oral and written format.
• Flexibility to intervene on a moment's notice.
• Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance from team members when necessary.
• Knowledgeable in innovative therapeutic interventions for the population served.
• Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partner's needs.
• Basic computer skills
• Good working knowledge of community resources for psychiatry, psychotherapy, and mutual support groups in local and surrounding area.
