Job Title: Mental Health Therapist Division/Program: Long Beach - Behavioral Health Urgent Care Center Starting Compensation: 70,000.00 - 72,510.89 USD Per Year Working Location: Long Beach, CA Working Hours/Shift: Monday and Tuesday 1030AM-9PM, Thursday and Friday 1030AM-9PM Why Join Our Team? Requirements
- MHSII Master's degree in a mental health/social services field with BBS Registered intern number or MHSIII Master’s degree in mental health/social services field with BBS License experience.
- Two years’ experience in a mental health field with age group(s) to be served by the position in residential or outpatient settings preferred.
- MHSII - BBS AMFT intern registration or BBS ASW associate registration or MHSIII - LMFT or LCSW license in California.
- Valid California Driver’s License.
- Current Substance Abuse Counselor or Chemical Dependency Counselor certification (Certificate program from an organization on the California DHCS list of certifying organizations) preferred
Responsibilities
- This position has primary responsibility for providing individual and group mental health services and case management services to children, adolescents, adults and their families.
- Services include but are not limited to individual, family and collateral therapy, bio-psycho-social assessments, treatment/service planning, discharge planning, etc.
- Functions as crisis intervention clinician as needed.
- He/she acts as liaison with external agencies and functions on teams with other clinical & support staff.
- S/he documents and bills for mental health and case management services and completes outcomes information.
- May be requested to obtain additional certifications as needed, including for evidenced based practices.
- AMFT/ASW intern staff (that meet qualifications) may be asked to become LPS designee certified to facilitate the completion of “applications 5150/5585” for clients in need of such.
