About The Position

The Mental Health Therapist Hospital Based provides mental health services to patients and their families who are seeking hospital-based mental health services in the context of a mental health crisis. Duties may include mental health and diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, consultation, crisis intervention, therapeutic intervention, case management, and discharge planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience with youth in mental health crisis and minimum 1 year experience delivering clinical mental health services
  • Master’s degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, and/or counseling
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), associate must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) or Associate Marriage Family Therapist (AMFT). Associate must possess a master’s degree from an accredited university.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more years post-graduate experience with youth in mental health crisis
  • experience with a hospital system, residential treatment program, community-based crisis service, or other setting serving acute mental health needs
  • Prior LPS designation, crisis de-escalation training, manual holds training
  • Risk assessment (danger to self, danger to others, grave disability) and management
  • fluent knowledge of community resources relevant to disposition planning
