About The Position

The Mental Health Therapist Hospital Based provides mental health services to patients and their families who are seeking hospital-based mental health services in the context of a mental health crisis. Duties may include mental health and diagnostic assessment, treatment planning, consultation, crisis intervention, therapeutic intervention, case management, and discharge planning.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year experience with youth in mental health crisis and minimum 1 year experience delivering clinical mental health services
Master’s degree in psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work, and/or counseling
Basic Life Support (BLS), associate must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) or Associate Marriage Family Therapist (AMFT). Associate must possess a master’s degree from an accredited university.

Nice To Haves

One or more years post-graduate experience with youth in mental health crisis
experience with a hospital system, residential treatment program, community-based crisis service, or other setting serving acute mental health needs
Prior LPS designation, crisis de-escalation training, manual holds training
Risk assessment (danger to self, danger to others, grave disability) and management
fluent knowledge of community resources relevant to disposition planning
