The Transitions Program works in a strengths-based, culturally relevant, and co-occurring friendly manner with participants. The program utilizes many principles of the Transition to Independence Process model that engages youth in their own recovery process towards healthier expressions of their lives. Service delivery is a collaborative process, helping participants to co-create their short- and long-term goals. We providemunity-based services, meeting participants in environments w they feel mostfortable. Services are designed to meet TAY w they are, using modalities and interventions that TAY can relate to, including engaging youth in a nonjudgmental, conversational style ofmunication, and discussing topics that are relevant to TAY. Services place much emphasis on building a strong therapeutic alliance with our participants in order to foster the most effective oues. Join our team as: Mental Health Therapist What You Will Do Under administrative and clinical supervision (Mental Health Therapist I) or consultation and direction (Mental Health Therapist II), provides behavioral health clinical intervention and recovery services to assigned participants and their families; develops treatment plans and performs individual, group, and family therapy , routine and emergency assessment, crisis intervention, and related treatment services; manages an assigned caseload of children, youth and/or young adult participants; provides consultation to other staff, programs, and agencies related to treatment needs and plans; and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field
  • Mental Health Therapist I: One (1) year of internship experience providing mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, ormunity-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.
  • Mental Health Therapist II: Two (2) years of post-master's experience providing professional mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, ormunity-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.
  • Possession of a valid California Driver's License, a satisfactory driving record, and a properly registered and insured vehicle, to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Mental Health Therapist I: Possession of a valid registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment. Some programs may consider candidates who are able to obtain registered status within the first six (6) months after hire.
  • Mental Health Therapist II: Possession of valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.
  • Knowledge of: The principles and practices that are associated with psychotherapy, social work, and counseling.
  • Psychosocial assessments and individual/family/group behavioral treatment methods for target population of program.
  • Risk assessment, including danger to self or others, and effectivemunity-based interventions for those with high risk.
  • Cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families andmunities.
  • Program target population (Example: intellectually disabled, homeless, teens or young adults, seriously emotionally disturbed).
  • Program modality (example: school-based, residential, mobilemunity-based, wraparound, etc.).
  • Ability to: Communicate verbally, in writing, and with active listening skills.
  • Maintain participant confidentiality.
  • Be Certified to conduct a CANS/ANSA assessment within 90 days of employment if CANS/ANSA is utilized by program.
  • a strength-based, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and flexible approach to supervision, participant, andmunity service, to support participant recovery, health, and wellness.
  • Assess, triage, andanize work.
  • Use Microsoft Office Suite and/orpetence with electronic clinical documentation systems.
  • Access dependable transportation, personal car insurance meeting minimum liability coverage required if position requires driving for work or transporting participants.
  • () For LPCC/PCCI's, the county-specific eligibility must be verified by the hiring manager including certification by the BBS to work with families, as required.
