About The Position

Morrison Child and Family Services is a Joint Commission and Sanctuary accredited non-profit organization providing comprehensive services to children, adolescents, and their families. The organization is committed to trauma-informed care values including Nonviolence, Emotional Intelligence, Social Learning, Democracy, Open Communication, Social Responsibility, and Growth and Change. The Outpatient Mental Health Therapist position delivers mental health treatment services to youth aged 2-18 and their families. This is an in-person role, though services may be provided in-person or via telehealth. Therapists collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team, and clients may also receive additional services like skills training, case management, SUD treatment, and medication management from other Morrison providers. Caseload size varies based on the program (clinic, community-based, or school-based) and the client's level of need and engagement.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health, social services, educational, or other related setting.
  • Pass a DHS (Department of Human Services) criminal history background
  • If driving for position, must meet agency driving requirement
  • If bilingual, must pass language proficiency testing

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish, both written and spoken. Must clear a language proficiency test.
  • CADC Certification
  • Current Oregon or other state behavioral health license
  • Two years direct treatment experience with children and/or adolescents in a mental health setting

Responsibilities

  • Provides mental health services for youth, ages 2-18, and their families: assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual, and family therapy.
  • Provides case management, crisis support, safety planning, coordination of care, referrals to ancillary and/or specialty services, and group therapy, as needed.
  • Completes all clinical documentation in accordance with state, federal and organizational requirements, emphasizing collaborative documentation.
  • Abides by the appropriate code of ethics and follows all of Morrison’s policies and procedures.
  • Is present and punctual for work, supervision, and/or meetings.
  • Works well within a team environment, sharing workload, credit, and opportunities.
  • Completes other duties as assigned to ensure successful operation of program or department.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing a thorough knowledge and application of the Sanctuary model and other organizational policies & practices.
  • Participate in staff development, in-services, and training related to workplace effectiveness; model professional behaviors and implement improvements to business practices with awareness of their impact in a trauma-informed behavioral healthcare organization.
