About The Position

The Mental Health Therapist position in Milan, New Mexico, is a full-time role that involves planning and providing clinical mental health services of a non-medical nature within a correctional facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting mental health screenings and assessments, which include reviewing available records and performing clinical interviews with inmates. This role requires a deep understanding of psychological counseling theory and techniques, as well as the ability to implement effective treatment strategies tailored to the individual needs of inmates. The Mental Health Therapist will develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans based on evaluations of inmates' needs and levels of functioning. It is crucial for the therapist to document all treatment and evaluation activities accurately in the health care record for each inmate seen. Maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive materials and information is paramount in this role. The therapist will also provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and crisis interventions to address the diverse needs of the inmate population. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that inmates receive the necessary mental health support and interventions to facilitate their rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
