About The Position

Individual will provide individual, group and family therapy, provide evidence-based behavioral interventions and therapeutic strategies to patients and families, assist with case management and discharge planning, complete treatment plans and reviews, complete psychosocial assessments, actively participate in treatment team meetings, serve as a liaison with outpatient resources, complete reports and make collateral contacts, and assist with training inpatient staff. Reports directly to the Director of Therapy.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral health field required (social work, counseling, psychology).
  • Temporary Counseling Permit, Temporary Social Work Permit, LGSW, LCSW, LICSW, Provisionally Licensed Counselor, LPC, Licensed Psychologist) licensure must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable as needed.
  • Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively with patients and their families, employees and public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variable as needed.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Ability to deal with a variety of personality types; remains calm during high stress situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in mental health disturbance and/or dual diagnoses preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individual, family and group therapy for adults, adolescents and children.
  • Interviews family members and/or collateral sources for information to complete or supplement the assessment and aid in treatment planning and provides crisis intervention to patients and families in acute distress.
  • Establishes and implements therapeutic goals, objectives, and interventions.
  • Presents patient information at treatment team meetings for reviews of patient progress and discharge planning procedures.
  • Maintains all clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and accrediting standards.
  • Provides patient and family education and schedules family meetings and therapy sessions.
  • Documents and reports all suspected incidents of abuse and/or neglect in compliance with current regulations.
  • Meets staff development requirements.
  • Assists in orientation and training of new staff by serving as mentor, as needed.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
