About The Position

This is a professional position that provides immediate, on-site behavioral health crisis intervention services to individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, and emotional distress crises in the community. Working within a collaborative team, the therapist will assess needs, provide support, determine appropriate interventions including de-escalation, safety planning and referral to additional services. This role requires the therapist to be mobile, responding to calls across a variety of community settings. Employee must reside in the county where Mobile Crisis Response Team services are provided.

Requirements

• Minimum of Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years' experience working with individuals in crisis, including experience in mental health, substance use or emergency services.
• New Mexico State licensure as a Master's or doctorate level mental health counselor, social worker, or psychologist is required.
• Must have or be able to obtain First Aid and BLS/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Spanish or Navajo preferred.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care and crisis intervention techniques preferred.
