About The Position

Livingston County Community Mental Health is a public mental health services provider located in Howell, Michigan, between Detroit and Lansing. We are an agency joined by the shared vision to create a healthy and rewarding life in the community for everyone. Our team approach works together to serve individuals with a wide array of needs in order to create individualized pathways to wellness, resilience, recovery and self-determination. As a Home-Based Therapist at Livingston County Community Mental Health, you can meet youth and families where they are at and play an important role in getting them where they want to be in a collaborative environment where therapists have the tools, time, and training to provide excellent services in a positive team environment. Therapists go beyond the walls of the office to work in homes, schools, and with other system partners to help build a network of care around each family that we serve. In this role, teaming and individualized interventions come together to promote healthy development, family cohesion and empowerment, and to maintain youth in their homes and communities. As a Home-Based Therapist, you will be an essential part of a treatment team and will combine individual & family therapy, crisis intervention, & case management to facilitate safety, ongoing stability, and to support those that you serve. On a given day in this role, you might connect families to services to help meet their basic needs, attend an IEP, Juvenile Court Proceeding or psychiatric assessment, provide individual & family therapy, attend a community-based workgroup, participate with a treatment team to provide crisis support and intervention, or provide psychoeducation or parenting education. Caseloads are around 10 per therapist, therapists work with each youth and family about twice a week, and there are some work hours that will occur after school and in the evening. This is an excellent job both for the beginning mental health professional or an experienced clinician with an abundance of skills to share. If you are energized by working in a supportive and dynamic environment while making a difference in the lives of youth and families, apply today!
