About The Position

Welcome to a medical center where you're the center of attention. Overlake Medical Center & Clinics is seeking a passionate Part-time (0.6 FTE) Social Worker or Mental Health Therapist to join the Cancer Services Team. In this role you will provide counseling, therapeutic assessments, and interventions for adult oncology patients in a holistic, culturally sensitive process that promotes the dignity, respect, safety and maximum optimal functioning of the individual. You will provide individual therapy sessions using evidence based treatments and develops individualized treatment plans. As part of integrative psychiatry, you will collaborate with the patient’s integrative psychiatrist, their oncologist and the oncology social workers for short-term management and stabilization of symptoms through therapeutic individual treatment with short term CBT or other applicable therapeutic approaches. You will be an essential part of the Cancer Services Program, coordinating directly with staff psychiatrist, providers and other interdisciplinary team members to effectively meet the behavioral health needs of the patients through individual therapy. Requirements

  • Master’s degree required.
  • Candidate must possess one of the following licenses from the state of Washington: Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or Licensed Mariage & Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Minimum two (2) years of recent, continuous experience as a psychotherapist required.
  • Needs a background and/or interest in working with cancer patients.
