About The Position

The Mental Health Technician at Jackson House Treatment plays a crucial role in supporting clients with mental health and addiction issues. This part-time, per diem position involves implementing behavioral programs, providing care and supervision, and fostering positive relationships with clients. The technician is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the facility while promoting clients' daily living skills and participating in various activities. The role requires close observation, documentation of client behavior, and crisis intervention when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience working in the mental health field.
• Valid State Driver License.
• Valid First Aid / CPR certification.
• Bilingual preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a program or in a residential setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the development and implementation of clients' behavioral programs.
• Provides care and close supervision of facility clients.
• Documents client behavior accurately and timely.
• Develops positive relationships with clients and co-workers.
• Implements treatment plans and provides crisis intervention as necessary.
• Maintains safety and security of the facility through close observation and monitoring of clients.
• Promotes development of clients' daily living skills.
• Stimulates clients' interest and cooperation in various activities through positive interaction and instruction.
• Assesses and ensures the needs of the clients are met regarding clothing, linens, and personal hygiene supplies.
• Supervises personal hygiene tasks and accompanies clients to various activities.
• Transports clients to and from medical appointments or other activities as directed.
• Assists in crisis situations following emergency protocols and procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the assigned work area/unit.
