Mental Health Technician - Inpatient Behavioral Health - FT Days - Hospital Hill (3 days per week, 7:00am - 7:30pm)

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Mental Health Technician to join our amazing team on the Mental Health Unit! As a Mental Health Technician, you’ll be working hand-in-hand with our Licensed Nursing Staff, providing patient care and helping create a therapeutic space where people can thrive. Whether you're assisting with daily activities or providing a listening ear, you’ll be making a real impact every single day.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must obtain BCLS certification within 120 days of hire (and keep it current for continued employment)
- Clearance through the Family Care Registry
- Completion of training as directed through orientation and/or by Leadership, Management, or Educators in the established timeline
- Department orientation with classroom and clinical training equivalent to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) regulations—or meet specific background criteria as listed below:
- Unlicensed Assistive Personnel training requirements can be waived if the employee demonstrates competency in required content areas. Must meet one of the following:
- Enrolled in a professional or practical nursing program and completed a fundamentals of nursing course
- Was a nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure exam in the past 3 years
- Certified as a nursing assistant per state regulation
- Certified or trained in UAP curriculum
- Has documented experience as a nurse assistant, EMT, or surgical technician in the past 3 years
- Completed UAP training in Missouri within the last 3 years
- Completed a professional or practical nursing program outside the U.S. and awaiting licensure in this country
- UAPs from staffing agencies must comply with training requirements
Nice To Haves
- Experience in patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ambulation, feeding, etc.)
- Previous mental health experience
- BCLS certification
