Join University Health Behavioral Health Cadence House Group Home as a Mental Health Technician on our weekend overnight team! Work Saturday and Sunday, 7 PM–7:30 AM, while earning both a weekend shift differential and an overnight shift differential. Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (no college degree required).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 120 days of hire and maintain it for continued employment.
- Level 1 Medication Aide (LIMA) Licensure: Complete the licensure course and exam within the first 90 days of employment. Certification must remain current per the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (DHSS).
- Driver’s License: Obtain a valid Class E Missouri or Kansas driver’s license. Must be comfortable and competent operating a 15-passenger van within 6 months of employment and obey all traffic laws while on duty.
- Family Care Registry Clearance: Successfully clear the Family Care Registry background check.
- Training: Complete all required training as outlined during orientation and by leadership within established timelines for continued employment.
Nice To Haves
- Patient Care Experience: Preference for candidates with documented experience assisting patients with activities of daily living (e.g. home health or residential experience).
- Mental Health Experience: Prior experience in a mental health care setting is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Engage and Support Residents: Spend time with residents during the evening hours, providing emotional support and engaging them in light, meaningful activities to help them unwind.
- Medication Administration: Assist with administering morning medications (training provided) and ensure proper documentation.
- Client Wellness Checks: Conduct regular rounds to monitor residents while they sleep, ensuring safety, comfort, and peace of mind throughout the night.
- Administrative Duties: Complete key overnight tasks, including billing, shift reports, and documentation updates to prepare for daytime staff.
- Facility Maintenance: Perform light cleaning, safety checks on equipment, and other tasks to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
- Prepare for Day Shift: Coordinate and ensure all preparations are completed for a smooth handoff to the daytime team.
