About The Position

The Oklahoma County Crisis Intervention Center (OCCIC) is seeking friendly, hard-working Mental Health Technicians to join their highly skilled multi-discipline team. This role involves providing care to high-risk individuals in a state facility located in the heart of the metro area. As part of the treatment team, the Mental Health Technician will develop and maintain supportive relationships with consumers to address their strengths, goals, and barriers to recovery. This includes direct care to consumers in inpatient, outpatient, or residential care settings, monitoring recovery progress, engaging in de-escalation activities, participating in recovery, wellness, and social skills groups, and developing and managing other group activities.

Requirements

  • No experience or education required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Submit to a physical examination and meet physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and able to push and pull a maximum force of 25 pounds upon a conditional offer of employment
  • Submit to urinalysis to test for drugs for safety sensitive positions upon a conditional offer of employment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a supportive relationship with consumers to address strengths, goals and barriers to recovery
  • Provide direct care to consumers of behavioral health treatment in an inpatient, outpatient or residential care setting
  • Monitor recovery progress toward treatment goals
  • Perform de-escalation activities
  • Participate in recovery, wellness, and social skills groups
  • Develop and manage other group activities
