Malvern Behavioral Health is currently seeking full-time Inpatient Mental Health Technicians to work at our upcoming BRAND NEW Malvern Behavioral Health facility located at 3905 W. Ford Road Philadelphia, PA 19131. The MHT position is a full-time day shift position working 7:00am - 7:30pm with an every other weekend commitment. Malvern Behavioral Health focuses on key stressors that adults struggling with drug and alcohol dependency and mental health issues, provides individualized treatment, and works with each person to develop proper support, skills, and education so they can thrive in everyday life. Our trauma-informed and recovery-focused trained staff take great care to provide a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment. The mental health technician assists in the direct care & management of patients across a young adult age range with medical and behavioral issues as directed by the treatment team. Assists with unit programming to facilitate the carryover of therapy issues, leisure activities, and activities of daily living with the functional ability of patients and with consideration for the patient's level of growth and development. Knowledge and Skills: Displays an understanding of the basic concepts of safe, supportive, nurturing, & therapeutic human interactions. Demonstrates understanding of program & philosophy & is able to interpret & implement patient care. Displays an active interest in learning. Demonstrates creativity & problem solving skills. Demonstrates leadership by training new employees. Effectively interacts with patients, peers, & families. Demonstrates ability to follow behavior program. Actively supervises therapeutic & recreational activities. Understands & practices effective motivational techniques. Demonstrates consistent ability to problem-solve & communicate clearly, both verbally & in writing. Demonstrates regular, required attendance. Malvern Behavioral Health is an acute behavioral health unit which helps young adults, ages 18 to 26, overcome mental health illnesses and addictions so that they can become thriving adults.
