Much more available online at: https://bhbhospital.com/ Mental Health Technician (MHT) Position Summary: We are currently seeking full-time shift Mental Health Technicians (MHTs) to support our Adolescent Unit.As a member of the treatment team, the MHT provides continuous care, supervision, and therapeutic engagement to adolescents in our program. This role is essential in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment while serving as a positive role model for patients.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- One year of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
- Successful completion of CPR and Handle With Care certification; certifications may be obtained during orientation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment for patients.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and establishing and maintaining good health by using effective, therapeutic communication techniques.
- Conduct environmental rounds on unit for safety and document observations
- Facilitate patients’ participation in therapeutic activities and groups.
- Implement crisis management skills as directed by licensed staff.
