About The Position

The Mental Health Technician Trainer supports the purpose and procedures of the Clinical and Nursing Services. The MHT Trainer will communicate with leadership all aspects of training with MHTs. The Trainer will be responsible for mentoring training with all incoming newly hired MHTs. The Trainer will complete accurate and timely documentation on MHT training as outlined by policy, report observations to relevant staff, and make recommendations based on observations, as well as assist in the preparation of other training reports and daily activities log as required.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience of 1+ year in behavioral health required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to successfully perform in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must be 21+ years of age

Responsibilities

  • Assign Mental Health Technicians training tasks
  • Conduct peer groups for training purposes; provide education to staff about the role of the MHT in inpatient care
  • Educate MHTs regarding acute care and all related functions of an MHT
  • Develop and support training plans to help grow the MHT Ladder
