About The Position
This is a full-time Mental Health Technician II position located in Ashford, Alabama, at the Cottonwood Care Home. The role involves a rotating schedule of 7am-7pm shifts, including weekends and holidays, with available shift differentials and holiday premiums. Duties include assisting consumers with daily needs, teaching living skills, providing transportation, ensuring facility operation, assisting with medication under nurse supervision, and completing electronic health record documentation.
Requirements
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must meet insurability requirements to drive a system vehicle (21 years of age)
- Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment background check and drug screen
- Must obtain CPR and MAC certification upon hire
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience providing patient care in a mental health or substance abuse treatment environment
Responsibilities
- Various activities to meet consumer needs including, but not limited to: meal preparation, cleaning of the facility, assisting with daily tasks, etc.
- Teaching group and individual basic living skills
- Providing transportation using system vehicle when required by the program
- Ensure efficient operation of the facility
- Assisting with medication using the MAC certification under nurse supervision
- Completing required documentation using an electronic health record system
