About The Position

Cypress Creek Hospital is a free-standing 128-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in north Houston, TX, and minutes south of The Woodlands. Cypress Creek Hospital features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average, over 10,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Cypress Creek Hospital. We are comprised of a tenured dedicated team of Psychiatrists, Nurses, Social Workers, Mental Health Technicians and Support Staff where delivering compassionate care is our mission. We currently have an opportunity for a FT MHT/Driver. The Outpatient MHT/Driver is responsible for providing direct care to patients with psychiatric disorders, ensuring the safety and well-being of patients by supporting the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu. Assist with clerical and transportation duties for the Outpatient Services program. Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by the CEO/Managing Director.

Requirements

  • One year of customer service experience with one year of experience in a direct patient care role.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer skills.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Successful completion of CPR and Hospital de-escalation certification (HWC).
  • TX Driver's License with a clear driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Provides a safe environment.
  • Monitors adults and adolescents during lunch, breaks and before groups.
  • Monitors and assists patients who leave during groups.
  • Assists with clerical duties that include labeling forms, prints psychological evaluations for patient charts, copying/transition charts, complies daily census, sends charge sheets to business office for billing and ensures completion of patient satisfaction surveys.
  • Conducts follow-up calls for patients not presenting for program and welfare checks as needed.
  • Assists patients in following program rules and guidelines and in forming positive peer relationships.
  • Communicates with patients and families in a manner which projects empathy, helpfulness, and desire to positively impact patient's treatment.
  • Inputs all outcome forms/tools into electronic system.
  • Completes any additional duties as assigned.
