The Mental Health Technician II provides delegated components of nursing care to patients including monitoring, specimen collection, psycho-education, assistance with activities of daily living and behavior management in accordance with physician orders and established nursing policies and procedures. Care provided is based on defined standards of patient care and practice. The role involves observing and monitoring patient's status, completing various logs and reports, providing input to nursing staff, and delivering skilled patient care such as orientation, transportation, de-escalation, teaching coping skills, specimen collection, and assisting with daily living activities. The technician also observes and evaluates patient/family responses to interventions, leads psycho-educational groups, and maintains professional development and compliance with company policies and HIPAA requirements.
