About The Position

This is a great opportunity to work in the behavioral healthcare field. This is a per diem position where the employee has flexibility in choosing the shifts they work. Our psych units work 12-hour shifts - 6:30am - 7:00pm or 6:30pm - 7:00am. Our chemical dependency unit works 8-hour shifts- 6:30am-3:00pm, 2:30pm-11pm or 10:30pm-7:00am Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., has been a beacon of hope and healing for over 35 years, serving those struggling with behavioral health and substance use issues. Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as, an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Website: www.roxburyhospital.com The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and activities of daily living. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a psychology-related field is highly preferred
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid Driver's License with safe driving record

Responsibilities

Monitors unit milieu and helps to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients
Leads activity groups for patients according to the program schedule
Conducts patient observation rounds throughout the shift to ensure safety
Works collaboratively with unit nursing staff on patient care activities
Responds to patient crisis events accordingly using de-escalation techniques.
