About The Position

This is a great opportunity to work in the behavioral healthcare field. The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, and activities of daily living. This position is full-time with every other weekend rotation. Our MHTs work 12 hour shifts - 6:30am - 7:00pm or 6:30pm - 7:00am. Roxbury Treatment Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc., has been a beacon of hope and healing for over 35 years, serving those struggling with behavioral health and substance use issues. Located in Shippensburg, PA., our 112-bed behavioral health facility offers acute psychiatric, detoxification, and rehabilitation services for adults as well as, an adolescent inpatient psychiatric program for youth ages 13-17. We also have two substance use disorder outpatient offices in Carlisle and Chambersburg. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a psychology-related field is highly preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Drivers License with safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Monitors unit milieu and maintains a safe therapeutic environment for patients.
• Completes patient observation rounds timely and accurately.
• Responds to patients in crisis and acts accordingly.
