The Mental Health Technician (MHT) at Millwood Hospital plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and providing continuous care to patients across various age groups. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the MHT is an integral part of the treatment team, responsible for supervision, interaction, and role modeling to support patients during their treatment journey.   • Ensure patient safety and provide continuous patient care.
  • Supervise and interact with patients, offering support and role modeling.
  • Work collaboratively as part of the treatment team under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Assist with restraining procedures after completing required training.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and adhere to all licensure requirements.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
  • Two years of related experience in psychiatric patient care techniques preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental illness and psychiatric care techniques is essential.
  • Successful completion of Management Aggressive Behavior Training (CPI) before unit orientation.
  • Certification in CPR through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
  • Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy, or a related therapeutic discipline preferred.
  • Experience in a mental health facility is a plus.
