Copper Hills Youth Center is a 24/7 secure residential treatment center (behavioral health) for male and female adolescents aged 12 through 17. We counsel, teach and mentor students who have psychiatric disorders. Our goal is to provide treatment that results in positive changes, allowing these youth to return to their families and communities. Job Description: Behavioral Health Technicians serve as a positive role model for youth while providing close supervision and documenting behaviors. Must be a team player and recognize the importance of this position to positive student outcomes. Will ensure that students are meeting defined daily goals, including hygiene, unit activities, education & therapy meetings, etc. Will intervene during student crisis as necessary by using verbal de-escalation skills and other personal safety techniques. Facilitation of group interactions and ensuring students are behaving according to standards. By using positive verbal skills, educate students on appropriate behavior and possible consequences, and enact consequences if needed.
