Website: https://www.LighthouseCareCenters.com The Mental Health Technician (Degreed) opportunity is a key member of the Lighthouse Nursing Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient centric therapeutic strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective prog ramming is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The Mental Health Technician is r esponsible for observation rounds of persons whose lives are disrupted or complicated by mental illness, behavioral disturbance, substance issues or inability to function or maintain in the community.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Associates or Bachelors level education in a human service related field required.
- Certified Nursing Assistants and Registered Behavioral Technicians are encouraged to apply.
- Valid driver's license with no suspensions or tickets for major traffic violations for at least three years.
- CPR/First Aid certification required or ability to obtain within first week of hire.
- Must be able and willing to become certified in therapeutic restraint technique program (Handle With Care).
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with children and adolescents with serious emotional disturbance and/or co-occurring substance abuse disorders preferred.
- Additional pay offered for lifeguard certification.
Responsibilities
- Participate in treatment planning
- Assist in the admission process
- Orient new patients to the unit and their program
- Plan and prepare for group therapy sessions
- Maintain patient, program, department and related documentation
