About The Position

The Community Counselor/Mental Health Tech at Lakeside Behavioral Health System is responsible for providing direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role focuses on creating a safe and therapeutic environment for mental health patients, engaging in crisis intervention, and facilitating individual and family education, as well as assisting with activities of daily living.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
• One year of work experience providing direct patient care with knowledge of direct patient care techniques.
• Understanding of mental illness and psychiatric group processes.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of therapeutic relationships processes.
• Experience with age-specific growth and development.
• Familiarity with limit setting and behavior management.
• Crisis management skills, especially with aggressive behaviors.
• CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse.
