About The Position

Dungarvin is a mission-driven team dedicated to providing person-centered support services since 1976. They assist individuals in need of assistance, and/or living with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or other complex medical needs, helping them live as independently as possible. This role involves working directly with individuals to provide hands-on care, support mental health and behavioral management, create a safe environment, and mentor and guide them towards achieving their personal goals and aspirations. Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience working with individuals who have challenging behaviors, such as physical or verbal aggression, property destruction, or self-injury.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Physical stamina to stay on your feet, walk, stand, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Basic computer skills for tracking progress and documentation.
  • Good communication skills for reading, writing, and documenting care, following support plans, and collaborating with team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mental health conditions (e.g., bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression, anxiety) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Hands-On Care: Assist individuals with daily activities like personal care, meal prep, transportation, housekeeping, and laundry, all while fostering independence.
  • Support Mental Health & Behavioral Management: Utilize your skills to help individuals overcome behavioral challenges, offering compassionate, person-centered care.
  • Create a Safe & Welcoming Environment: Maintain a clean, safe space that ensures comfort and support while helping individuals reach their personal goals.
  • Mentor & Guide: Provide supervision, positive reinforcement, and guidance to help individuals achieve their aspirations.
