About The Position

JOB SUMMARY Leads and coordinates inter-agency and multidisciplinary response on criminal cases, specifically sexual assault, domestic violence, and elder abuse through Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) case staffings. Facilitates groups and provides other clinical, advocacy, and support services to victim of crimes in order to reduce traumatic impact, help victims recover from victimization, and assist victims through criminal justice system and post-adjudication. Provides administrative services in support of clinical and program functions.

Requirements

  • Grade 14 Master's degree from accredited college or university in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling or other closely related field, and Licensed as a Certified Social Worker (CSW) in the State of Utah.
  • Grade 15 Master's degree from accredited college or university in social work, psychology, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling or other closely related field, and Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the State of Utah.
  • Required to successfully complete 40 hours of evidence-based trauma-informed training within six (6) months of hire according to national accreditation standards.
  • A valid Driver’s license issues by the State of Utah is required to operate a vehicle.
  • Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must successfully pass a criminal background check as well as every two years thereafter and continuously meet the requirements of the Bureau of Criminal Information (BCI).

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to those with at least four (4) years of experience in a child related setting, with one (1) year of experience working with child victims, and one (1) year of counseling experience with youth.

Responsibilities

  • Provides trauma and suicide assessments with victims served at the program.

  • May conduct individual, family and group counseling sessions/support groups in accordance with professional standards.
  • May interview, assesses, and identifies mental health needs using approved assessment instruments, social history, and consultation with community resources.
  • Makes treatment and social service referrals to appropriate
  • Communicates with community-based therapists regarding the victim’s needs and monitor progress according to established privacy and confidentiality procedures.
  • Provides training and education to the CJC staff and agency partners to facilitate a victim centered and trauma informed approach.
  • Maintains the program treatment provider linkage agreement partnerships with community based mental health agencies and collects required documentation to fulfill national accreditation standards.
  • Completes annual training and clinical supervision requirements for licensure and national accreditation standards.
  • Implements data entry, required documentation, and various reports.
  • Keeps manager informed and makes recommendations to improve mental health services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
