About The Position

The Mental Health Skill Building Workers (QMHP-A) position at Hope Seekers Community Support Services involves providing direct mental health services under the supervision of the clinical director. The primary goal of this role is to implement service plans that offer structure, support, and training to individuals with significant psychiatric functional limitations. This support is aimed at helping these individuals achieve and maintain community stability and independence in the least restrictive environment possible. Services may be delivered in various settings tailored to the individual's needs, allowing for skills training and recovery experiences. Candidates for this position must possess a Bachelor's Degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or another DMAS-approved human service field, along with at least one year of clinical experience in providing direct services. This includes developing, conducting, and approving assessments and individual service plans for individuals diagnosed with mental illness. A valid Virginia Driver's License is also a requirement for employment, and candidates must be registered with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a QMHP-A. The MHS Workers will be responsible for conducting intake and orientation sessions with clients, developing and implementing individualized service plans in collaboration with clients and their guardians, and maintaining a network of community referrals. They will also monitor the effectiveness of these referrals, conduct regular assessments to evaluate client progress, and establish working relationships with representatives from other agencies. Additionally, the role includes providing care coordination, casework services, and experiential learning activities to clients, covering essential life skills such as job search, money management, and health and safety. The position requires providing transportation to clients as needed and maintaining regular contact with referring agencies. MHS Workers will also be expected to attend team meetings, training sessions, and supervision, ensuring compliance with licensing and Medicaid standards.
