About The Position

The Mental Health Skill Builder position at District 19 Community Services Board is designed for a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP-A) to provide skill-building services for adults with serious mental illness. The role involves working directly with individuals in a Transitional Independent Living Program, helping them develop the necessary skills for independent living. This position requires collaboration with a supportive team, including case managers and medical providers, to create individualized service plans that align with the clients' goals.

Requirements

• Must meet criteria for certification as QMHP-A.
• Bachelor's degree in human services, related field, or Special Education from an accredited college.
• At least one year of clinical experience providing direct services to individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness.
• One year of experience working with adults diagnosed with a mental illness in a treatment setting.
• Valid Driver's License in state of residence with a point balance of -6 or higher.
• Proficiency in using computers, including Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records.

Nice To Haves

• Experience providing community-based mental health services to adults with serious mental health conditions.
• Experience with Medicaid billable service requirements.
• Experience working as part of an inter-disciplinary treatment team.
• Experience with individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, or those acquitted as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals in developing skills for independent living.
• Work on-site with clients residing in independent living apartments.
