The Mental Health Screener provides crisis assessments for children and adults across the developmental lifespan in the Union County screening center, community and affiliated emergency rooms. The Mental Health Screener develops safety plans, discharge plans, facilitates admissions via the RWJ Access Center and coordinates with an interdisciplinary team, families, community supporters, and local and state mental health partners. This role uses evidence-based practice and assessment tools to support a plan, including the least restrictive setting, as well as complete screening documents for adults 18 and over when involuntary admission is being recommended. After training and completion of the state's required classes and test, this role would be eligible to participate in alternate response teams, including ARRIVE together mobile outreach.
