About The Position

The Mental Health Registered Nurse at the Oregon State Hospital is responsible for providing nursing care to individuals in a forensic psychiatric facility. This role involves administering medications, developing nursing care plans, conducting assessments, and responding to psychiatric emergencies. The nurse will also supervise staff and ensure a therapeutic and safe environment for patients.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain a valid and unencumbered Oregon Professional Registered Nurse license.
  • Experience working in mental health.
  • Experience in conflict and crisis management.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple job responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to individuals residing in the Oregon State Hospital.
  • Administer medications as ordered by the provider.
  • Develop nursing plans of care and complete assessments.

  • Monitor staff work assignments and supervise staff to provide a therapeutic milieu.
