About The Position

2nd Shift Mental Health - Recovery Nurse - RN/LPN New Graduates with a NC license are welcome to apply Cooper Riis is voluntary residential mental health treatment facility that does not work with detox situations. We take a holistic approach to the work we do with residents and focus on the health and wellness of not only our residents, but staff too. We believe in the autonomy of our residents, building a community, and providing a strength-based approach for managing mental health challenges. Our Nursing Team has the space to connect with residents, provide education, and individual support on their recovery journey. Location: Asheville, NC Schedule: 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM , 34 hours per week Days, Evenings Monday - Thursday Benefits: PTO and Sick Time accrual from the first day Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits Company Funded Life Insurance Retirement Plan with a company match Free Meals PSLF qualifying workplace Pay: LPN starting at $25.50 - $31.00 per hour and increases based on experience RN starting at $28.00 - $33.00 per hour and increases based on experience

Requirements

  • Interest in working in a mental health residential treatment facility
  • NC licensed as an LPN or RN or Compact State license

Nice To Haves

  • Previous psychiatric experience preferred
  • Understanding of psychiatric medications

Responsibilities

  • monitor vital signs, give first aid, assess physical concerns, make outside medical appointments as needed
  • Process and review all medication refills and orders
  • Pack medications and determine eligibility for self-administer medications
  • Discuss and educate residents on their medications
  • Assesses residents with physical health complaints, schedules appointments with external providers, and provides follow up care
  • Collects FBG, breathalyzer, urine drug screens
  • Maintain proper documentation of medications, appointments, physical health concerns
  • Provides crisis intervention and assists with hospitalization when necessary
  • Communicates with Integrative Health Specialist regarding supplements, dietary concerns, and additional weight monitoring
  • Completes required procedures and documentation for all changes with residents
  • Monitor vital signs, give first aid, assess physical concerns, make outside medical appointments as needed
