About The Position

RHSC is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner to join their team in providing treatment services within their community residential treatment program, Afton Place. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 4,000 hours or 2 years full-time in the delivery of services to individuals with mental illness or substance use disorder; or traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities
  • Coursework of at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and has at least 2,000 hours in the delivery of services to individuals with mental illness or substance use disorder; or traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities
  • Coursework of at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and has completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults and was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields
  • Coursework of at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields and is in the process of completing a practicum or internship as part of a formal undergraduate or graduate training program in social work, psychology, or counseling
  • Master’s or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related field

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the general health, safety, and welfare of all program residents during shift
  • Providing evidence based practices services to residents
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of resident activity and interventions with program residents through daily logs and incident reports
  • Providing crisis interventions to address significant behavioral, medical or psychiatric problems
  • Monitoring, administrating and setting up medications according to individual treatment plan
  • Assisting residents with daily living skills and performing other duties as required of each shift
