The NYC Health Worksite Wellness Program provides wellness initiatives, programs, and resources to help health department staff live a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle. Worksite Wellness initiatives focus on many different areas that contribute to well-being, like physical activity, healthy eating, work-life integration, general health and prevention, and mental health. Worksite Wellness offers a range of services including mental health programming, resources, and workshops on topics such as stress, burnout, and resilience. Our program also provides support spaces, wellness suites, and events like mental health screenings. The public health workforce has been experiencing high levels of burnout and stress stemming from our tireless work during the COVID-19 pandemic and other public health emergencies over the last four years. Furthermore, our Worksite Wellness team is looking to expand mental health support and engagement for staff. The Worksite Wellness Program sits within the Division of Administration at the Health Department. The division supports operations for the entire agency, including Human Resources and Labor Relations, Workforce Development, Facilities Planning and Administrative Services, Operations for our District Health Centers and other DOHMH buildings, Occupational Health and Safety, Employee Health, Clinical Quality Management and Improvement, and Worksite Wellness programs.
