The Crisis Residential Treatment (CRT) is a short-term voluntary residential facility tailored to adults aged 18-59 experiencing psychiatric crises. Its purpose is to provide a safe environment for stabilization, recovery, and community transition. Services offered include round-the-clock programs, therapeutic and mental health services, rehabilitation and recovery support (including substance use rehabilitation), pre-vocational or vocational counseling, medication evaluation and support, daily exercise, health/wellness education, and crisis intervention. The LVN / LPT is responsible for providing direct client care, including medication administration and supervising the nursing activities of unit staff. Key duties include ordering, preparing, and documenting medications according to physician orders and confirming pharmacy deliveries. The role also requires communicating important information to the team, writing weekly client summaries as assigned, and maintaining accurate nursing documentation throughout the shift. This position also performs other related duties as needed. Placement within the grade is determined based on experience, internal equity, and other factors permitted by law.

Requirements

  • Valid California Driver's License
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid California LVN or LPT license.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of licensed vocational nursing or psychiatric technology required.
  • One (1) year service experience treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting.
  • One (1) year medication administration experience required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross.
