About The Position

The Per Diem Mental Health Evaluator is a Mental Health Therapist I who provides as needed coverage of services, including evaluations of children and adolescents for behavioral and psychiatric conditions. Evaluators in this role will provide support and referrals to appropriate levels of behavioral health care ranging from outpatient follow up to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization. These core services include evidence-based clinical interventions aimed to meet the patient and family with a trauma informed empathetic approach that encourages collaborative intervention and individualized treatment that is delivered for acute patient stabilization.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Required
  • Previous experience in a hospital, health organization or mental health agency setting - Required
  • Comfortable interacting with participants in the field (i.e. homes, hospitals, neighborhood settings), as well as in office-based settings. (Required proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Provide appropriate level of crisis intervention services and refer for additional level of care when appropriate.
  • Facilitating supportive, insight-oriented psychotherapeutic intervention, providing crisis intervention to high acuity patients, engaging with, and providing support to families, and engaging them in recovery.
  • Identify and collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop case summaries, while documenting all interventions within the required regulatory time frame.
  • Under the clinical supervision of a licensed and credentialed mental health practitioner, provides level of care and treatment planning recommendations.
  • Shares information regarding patient family situation with staff from other agencies and programs as appropriate in accordance with applicable confidentiality guidelines and relevant law.
  • Organizes workload and sets priorities based on patient care needs.
