About The Position

Comprehensive Life Resources is seeking a qualified Mental Health Counselor II to join our team in Tacoma, WA. This full-time position is part of Pierce County's first Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic. The role involves providing counseling services as part of a behavioral health services treatment team. The counselor will qualify as a Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor and Mental Health Professional (MHP) through the Washington Department of Health. The work may take place in the clinic and/or in the community, depending on program and client needs. As a Mental Health Counselor II, you will be responsible for delivering clinical counseling to assigned clients using Motivational Interviewing and cognitive behavioral techniques. You will work collaboratively as part of a clinical care team to provide integrated health care for clients. Additionally, you will provide support and counseling to clients' families and natural supports as appropriate. The role requires readiness to respond to client crises as needed, completing mental health assessments, provisional diagnoses, and risk assessments, which will be reviewed and confirmed by a master's level mental health professional, ARNP, or psychiatric provider. You will also work with clients and a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans and track progress in achieving goals. Completing other clinical paperwork in a timely and thorough manner is essential, as is keeping records up to date and in compliance with WAC, Title XIX, and agency requirements. Maintaining ethical and professional standards of practice is a critical aspect of this role, along with performing other duties as assigned.
