About The Position

The Mental Health Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering clinical mental health services within a secure correctional facility. This role focuses on providing non-medical mental health care, including assessments, treatment planning, counseling, and crisis intervention. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to deliver high-quality care while maintaining professionalism in a structured environment.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution
  • Active and unrestricted state license in one of the following: Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Valid driver’s license (if required by contract)
  • Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience
  • At least two (2) years in a similar or related role
  • Strong knowledge of mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning
  • Proven ability to provide counseling and crisis intervention in structured environments
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills
  • High level of professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments through clinical interviews and record reviews
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
  • Provide ongoing therapeutic services, including counseling and behavioral interventions
  • Deliver crisis intervention and support for acute mental health concerns
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, and clinical interactions
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with regulatory standards
  • Apply evidence-based practices and psychological theories in treatment delivery
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans to achieve optimal outcomes
