Their role involves helping clients navigate cultural and language barriers to access necessary mental health, medical, social, and educational services.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish
  • Master’s degree granted by an accredited institution in Counseling, Art Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field.
  • LPCA or QMHP, LPC
  • Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender, ORCHARDS, SAM/OIG required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed counseling to individuals, families, and groups
  • Maintain active case load including case notes and records in alignment with the agency’s documentation standards
  • Conduct mental health screenings and assessments to determine treatment needs and referrals to medication management or other adjunctive services (e.g. support group, peer support, case management)
  • Apply evidenced-based practices in treatment
  • Collaborate with consumer supports, including family members, partner agencies, and others as indicated on an ongoing basis
  • Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served
  • Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members, and facilitate development of a positive staff support network
