About The Position

Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Mental Health Clinician III in the PH Adult Newark of Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. Under direction, the primary purpose of the Mental Health Clinician III is to provide comprehensive evaluation, assessment and therapeutic intervention to address the psychological, emotional and social needs of individuals served by the unit. Duties include formulating evaluations, developing and implementing treatment plans, conducting individual, group, and family therapy and providing case management functions. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Contributes to and supports goals and objectives of the Department and UBHC . Consistently behaves in accordance with established department and UBHC policies and procedures as observed by supervisor. Actively participates in and contributes to smooth functioning of the department and demonstrates initiative and flexibility regarding work assignments as observed by supervisor and administration feedback. Effectively contributes to and supports an environment that enhances the positive self-image of individuals served and preserves their human dignity as observed by supervisor. Maintains effective, open communication with members of the treatment team as evidenced by supervisory observation and team members’ feedback.
