About The Position

ID#31207A -The Mental Health Clinician I, as a member of the client’s multidisciplinary treatment team, works with client, family and other team members to provide a range of primarily services including Individual, Family, and Group psychotherapy, Linkage to community resources, completion of a Child/Adolescent Initial Assessment or Infancy, Childhood & Relationship Enrichment Initial Assessment.

Requirements

  • Master degree from an approved graduate school or program leading to California licensure as LMFT/LCSW or equivalent, licensed therapist or registered intern with the appropriate California licensing board
  • experience working with children in a behavioral health setting
  • valid California license
  • Must pass Department of Justice fingerprint clearance and pre-employment physical.
  • Must have a valid California Driver License in good standing and be insurable by the Center’s auto insurance carrier.
  • Able to work effectively with a range of clients and staff from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must act in accordance with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) of 1996 and related state law confidentiality requirements.
  • Must successfully complete the Center’s HIPAA training, pass the HIPAA test, and receive the Certification of Compliance.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
  • Interacting with other employees at work in an essential function of the job.
  • Arriving at work on time and not leaving early is an essential function of the job.
  • Possess valid Class C California Driver’s License and driving record meets SFVMHC, Inc. insurance requirements.
  • Committed to the principles and practice of CRRR including family centered, strength based, and individualized care; flexible, unconditional services; and promoting self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual, group, conjoint, and family psychotherapy, both short and long term, to eligible children/adolescents and their families.
  • Complete psychosocial assessments with children and adolescent clients.
  • Link eligible children and their families with community based therapeutic and supportive clinical services as required.
  • Participate in case planning and case disposition meetings with other Center staff, consulting psychiatrists, previous service providers and informal supports, as applicable.
  • Participate in Child Family Team (CFT) meetings and work with client/family to implement agreed upon plan and support client/family in taking a leadership role in CFT meetings.
  • Complete all required DMH and Center chart documentation, report writing and correspondence within the mandated time frames.
  • Utilization of Collaborative Documentation with clients is required.
  • Maintain at least the required productivity level on a consistent basis.
  • Submit weekly schedule of client appointments.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Program Manager.
