About The Position

Morrison Child and Family Services is seeking a Mental Health Clinician to provide individual and group counseling services and assessments for its shelter Mi Futuro, which serves immigrant youth. The clinician will provide mental health assessments, conduct mental status examinations, and offer ongoing counseling services. The position is based in a hybrid environment, primarily onsite at the Downtown Shelter, and reports to the Program Director or Clinical Supervisor. Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work with clinical experience or a Master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science with direct clinical experience.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, with proficiency in written, read, and verbal communication.
• Licensure or licensed eligible preferred.

• Ability to follow HIPAA guidelines, federal regulations, and Morrison policy.
• Skills in assessing and treating disturbed adolescents.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and agency regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provides mental health assessments for unaccompanied youth including best practice suicide risk assessments and flight risk assessments.
• Provides ongoing individual and group counseling services and conducts mental status examinations.
• Completes DSM diagnoses when appropriate.
• Documents services and external communication for youth on their caseload.
• Makes referrals for psychiatric and psychological services.
• Develops and facilitates transition plans for clients per ORR guidelines.
• May supervise children and youth in milieu, on outings, and to appointments outside the facility.
• Participates in staff development, in-services, and training related to workplace effectiveness.
