About The Position

The Mental Health Clinical Therapist I position at LOH Naperville involves providing quality clinical therapeutic services to patient populations and their families/significant others. The therapist will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team, supporting the organization's treatment program and philosophy while ensuring the delivery of quality treatment. The role requires conducting psychosocial assessments, developing and monitoring individualized treatment plans, and providing individual, group, and family counseling sessions. The therapist will also participate in clinical team meetings, maintain accurate medical records, and comply with facility safety and ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a Master's Degree in a recognized mental health field, or a Bachelor's Degree and completion of an approved substance abuse education program.
  • Knowledge of developmental psychology, disease pathology, and clinical needs of assigned population.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential information.
  • Ability to clearly summarize pertinent clinical information via written correspondence and medical records documentation.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-control in volatile or hostile situations.
  • Ability to set therapeutic limits and maintain therapeutic distance with clients.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments by interviewing the patient and their significant others to obtain history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus.
  • Contact appropriate previous and current tertiary caregivers to obtain relevant collateral clinical data needed for the patient's coordination of care, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor progress of the patient's individualized treatment plan.
  • Conduct daily group and individual assessments to identify issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patient one-on-one and transcribing relevant information.
  • Provide individual, group, and family process-oriented counseling sessions.
  • Conduct educational, aftercare support, and other didactic groups for patients and family members using various professional treatment modalities.
  • Participate in regular clinical team meetings/staffing and provide input on the psychosocial, disease management, and case management needs of the patient.
  • Demonstrate understanding and adherence to all procedures and legislation applicable to patients cared for in a Mental Health and Substance Abuse treatment facility.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records including psycho-social assessments, family sessions, and daily progress notes.
  • Schedule, attend, and document court hearings as required, such as involuntary admission, guardianship, etc.
  • Participate in activities that enhance professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrate conduct in keeping with LOH ethical standards.
  • Float to alternate units or Linden Oaks locations based on census and staffing needs.
