About The Position

The Mental Health Clinical Therapist I position at LOH Outpatient in Plainfield, IL, is a full-time role with hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The therapist will conduct psychosocial assessments by interviewing patients and their significant others to obtain history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus. They will also contact previous and current caregivers to gather relevant clinical data for treatment planning and discharge. The therapist is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized treatment plans, conducting daily assessments, and providing individual, group, and family counseling sessions. Additionally, they will participate in clinical team meetings, maintain accurate medical records, and report to community/state agencies as required. The role may involve backup services for incoming assessment calls and participation in professional development activities.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or a recognized mental health field, or a Bachelor’s Degree with completion of an approved substance abuse education program.
  • Knowledge of developmental psychology, disease pathology, and clinical needs of assigned population.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to summarize clinical information clearly in written documentation.
  • Ability to demonstrate self-control in volatile situations.
  • Ability to set therapeutic limits and maintain therapeutic boundaries with patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities
