About The Position

Mental Health Associate Opportunity - Full Time or Part Time At Arbour Hospital, we work diligently and compassionately to provide patients and their families with high-quality care and service excellence across a continuum of specialized behavioral health services. We have proudly served the residents of the greater Boston area since 1909. Our medical staff consists of psychiatrists who average 20 years of practice at our facility, providing a solid and trusted foundation for our patient-focused approach to behavioral healthcare. We are an important community resource for a wide range of vital behavioral healthcare services. We treat primary psychiatric and substance abuse disorders and constantly strive to meet the needs of our communities with treatment that address individualized behavioral health needs. We stand ready to provide compassionate care through inpatient treatment and a strong continuum of aftercare services, community-based programs, and day treatment. The Mental Health Associate is a vital part of Arbour Hospital’s treatment team. Our positions require employees to work every other weekend and there is a competitive shift differential for the evening, night, and weekend shifts. This is a full time (32 hours per week), or part time (24 hours per week); Day shift (7-3:30p), evening shift (3pm-11:30pm), or overnight shift (11:00p-7:30a) position. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • College student who have obtained or are pursuing their degree in behavioral health, psychology, or human services are preferred
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Impeccable Judgment & professionalism
  • Ability to maintain composure in a crisis situation

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment
  • Provide routine patient care as required in a psychiatric environment
  • Document and communicate unusual or erratic changes in client behaviors
  • Assist with patient groups and activities
  • Work with culturally and generationally diverse populations to meet their individual needs
  • Provide trauma informed and age-specific care
  • Maintain therapeutic boundaries and utilize crisis intervention techniques
