Mental Health Associate – Transitional Living - PRN The Brook Hospital-KMI is currently seeking Mental Health Associates to work with our Men's Transitional Living House. This is a specialized 12 bed program for those with Substance Use Disorders. Mental Health Associate Serves as an active member of the clinical staff; maintains a therapeutic relationship with all patients; assists in maintenance of a safe, clean, therapeutic environment; assures patient participation in program activities; and performs technical/patient care duties relative to patient’s health and safety. Requirements

  • Education – High School diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
  • Drivers license with excellent driving record to drive a passenger van
  • Years of experience needed – Direct patient care experience in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
  • Certifications – Must maintain current CPR and first aid certification ( we will provide )
  • Computer skills – Ability to: gain training through web-based programs; participate in employee surveys;
  • Communication – Must possess excellent verbal skills in communicating with patients, coworkers and visitors.
  • Team work – Must be able to work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety
  • Service Excellence – Consistently demonstrates all Service Excellence Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Drives group in a passenger van to off-site AA meetings as needed
  • Assists with groups with focus on Recovery focused topics
  • Performs safety checks and patient observation rounds per guidelines
  • Assists multidisciplinary team to ensure patient safety
