About The Position

The Mental Health Associate functions as a care partner with the Registered Nurse to provide nursing care to a diagnostically/developmentally specific patient population; under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the MHA provides therapeutic interventions and treatments. Also, responsible for unit support activities and clerical/administrative functions as directed. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in psychology related field OR 5 years of related experience in a psychiatric services setting.
• BLS Certification through the American Heart Association.
• Valid NJ Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to a specific patient population under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
• Deliver therapeutic interventions and treatments.
• Assist with unit support activities.
• Perform clerical and administrative functions as directed.
• Report identified safety issues and medical errors.
