We are looking for a team-oriented individual that likes to work with individuals in our surrounding communities. This position is perfect for someone who is in school and/or would like to earn extra money in a fulfilling career field. You will have freedom in choosing the shifts that work for you. We are searching for a motivated Mental Health Associate to join our growing team. This position is primarily based at our Salem location, with the opportunity to work shifts in Woodburn as well. This individual will work with a team of mental health professionals to fulfill goals that have been identified for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. This individual will work closely with individuals to provide skills training, accessing services within the community, and activity therapies that have been identified by a Qualified Mental Health Professional to assist in reducing mental health symptoms.

  • Provides individual and group recreational, social and skills training services under a professionally developed service plan.
  • Keeps records of persons served status.
  • Performs service plan directed case management functions under close supervision.
  • Assists individuals in services at the Psychiatric Crisis Center (PCC) to follow the crisis treatment plan created by the Qualified Mental Health Professional.
  • Provides one on one skills training to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, as needed per QMHP.
  • Drives individuals in services to appointments, for emergency medications, food boxes, or to locations as directed by the QMHP.
  • Provides medication monitoring/support and documents on medication sheet in accordance with Physician/PMHNP orders and Marion County Health and Human Services policies and procedures.
  • Provides daily check-ins with individuals in the respite apartments or the respite home providers each day the individual is in respite.
  • Cleans respite apartments as needed, as well as respite vehicles.
  • Takes laundry to the cleaners as needed and disperses as necessary once returned clean.
  • Provides back up to PCC staff in answering the phones and greeting individuals who present at PCC.
  • Monitors the lobby as needed.
  • Attends monthly individual supervision meeting with Clinical Supervisor.
  • Attends mandated trainings as assigned.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
  • Three years relevant work experience in a behavioral health services field; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field; OR
  • Any satisfactory combination of work, education, training or experience relevant to the position, as determined by Marion County.
  • Must possess a current Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) Qualified Mental Health Associate certification (QMHA) or register within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Must possess a current driver's license in the applicant's state of residence and an acceptable driving history.
  • The finalist for this position will be required to pass a criminal history background check.
  • Final candidates selected for this position will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Part-time position, which is eligible for overtime.
  • Flexible work schedule depending upon the needs of the department and program.
